The Kingstide is Daniel Island’s first and only waterfront restaurant.     I’ve been a loyal Kingside customer for a while now and usually dine here or The Dime once a week. It’s one of my favorite restaurants, and my family is even planning to spend Thanksgiving here this year. That’s why I was so disappointed with the service during my most recent visit today. From the start, things were off. Our drinks were brought out incorrectly, though they were quickly corrected. The bigger issue was the timing and attention to our table. My daughter’s kids’ meal arrived roughly 30 minutes before mine, and all I ordered were the blackened mahi tacos. By the time my food finally came out, she was completely finished eating. It was clear that my meal hadn’t been rung in at all. Our server, Maddy P, was polite and pleasant, but unfortunately very inattentive. She hardly checked on us, and I eventually had to flag her down to ask about my meal. When it finally arrived, I ended up eating in a rush just so we could get the check and leave. I love Kingside, which is why this visit stood out so much in contrast to the consistently great experiences I’ve had in the past. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, because I truly want to continue enjoying this restaurant the way I always have.
