    Best Mexican restaurant on Daniel Island. Also, the only one... But, by East Coast standards it's pretty good. Staff are friendly and service is good. Hard for someone who grew up in California, Colorado, and Texas to give Carolina Mexican food five stars, but it's good. I eat there 80% of the time I eat on DI.

    We arrived at a nearly empty restaurant, only two people were sitting at the bar, yet the service was extremely slow. The server took a long time with everything, and our drinks sat at the bar for at least 10 minutes before being brought to us. For the second round, other staff had to step in because it was clear the same delays would happen again. Honestly, the experience would have been much better if we had been served by those other team members from the beginning. While the food was decent, the overall experience was disappointing. Another big issue was the bill: a 25% gratuity was automatically added without any notice on the menu or anywhere in the restaurant. This felt excessive and misleading, especially since the service did not justify it. Typically, automatic gratuity is around 18%, so this came as an unpleasant surprise.

    Stopped by Viva Taco & Tequila tonight and had a great experience! The food was absolutely amazing and came out hot and fresh. The atmosphere was great, and the service really stood out. Marissa and Larry were fantastic—super friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. I even returned because of the great experience Larry provided. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area!
